A judicial application claiming Lm25,000 in damages has been filed against the authorities regarding a call for applications for a tender for software services issued by the Health, Elderly and Community Care Ministry in 2005.
The application regards one of the companies that had applied to participate in the tender process, Intracom SA Information Technologies and Communication Services.
The company had been disqualified from the tender process on the basis of the fact that "the software programme should be in English not in Greek".
The applicant, Joseph Rizzo, who is the company's local representative and consultant, is claiming the decision should be annulled and invalidated since it is discriminatory, abusive and illegal.
The application also states that the tender process was suspended after a technical consultant from the evaluation board faced criminal proceedings in connection with actions taken during the evaluation process.
Dr Norval Desira and legal procurator Melissa Anastasi signed the writ.
