Court: Woman Who stole items from a friend conditionally discharged

A 56-year-old Birkirkara woman was conditionally discharged after she confessed she stole a number of items from a friend.

Before Magistrate Miriam Hayman, Helen Gauci pleaded guilty to stealing jewellery, money, meat and other items belonging to Helen Azzopardi, on and before 13 March 2005.

The woman was also found guilty of possessing stolen items that she intended selling.

The court ordered the accused to return the stolen money to Ms Azzopardi. Gauci was discharged on condition she does not commit another offence for a period of two years.

Police Inspector Kevin J. Farrugia prosecuted.

Dr Patrick Valentino appeared parte civile.
