Maltacom Group is giving its full support to the MCAST Hair and Beauty Marathon 2007 which kicks off on Saturday.

The 36-hour marathon, spread over two days, is a fund-raising initiative in aid of Razzett tal-Hbiberija. Maltacom has teamed up with MCAST to back this worthy cause and assist in funding the wide programme of recreational, educational and therapeutic services offered free of charge by Razzett tal-Hbiberija to disabled persons in the community.

“We are delighted to be supporting this high-powered initiative involving the active participation of MCAST students. These students have succeeded in transforming Razzett tal-Hbiberija into a showcase of their skills ranging from hair and beauty services, sports and exercise sciences, art and design, agribusiness to care and health studies,” said Maltacom’s head of communications, Franco Aloisio, who congratulated the students for their commitment and praised them for their keen sense of social awareness.

“Maltacom boasts a healthy relationship with MCAST and is proud to team up with educational and vocational training bodies for the benefit of young people – who are tomorrow’s employees,” he added.

Under terms of the sponsorship, Maltacom has donated a number of go mobile phones which will serve as prizes during games and competitions that form an integral part of the vast entertainment programme targeting all members of the family expected to visit the marathon over the week-end.

Furthermore, Maltacom will be waiving all installation charges for telephone services it will be providing throughout the marathon. The organisers have set up a phone-in system aimed at encouraging members of the general public to make their donation by calling 5004-9055 to donate Lm5 or 5004-9050 to donate Lm10.

During the presentation held at Maltacom’s head offices in Marsa, the company’s sponsorships manager, Maria Jourdan presented a number of mobile phones to the projects manager at Razzett tal-Hbiberija, Keith Zerafa.

Mr Zerafa thanked Maltacom for its ongoing support and praised the company for its strong social commitment. Maltacom is sponsoring the MCAST Hair and Beauty Marathon 2007 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme for the current year.
