Mikiel At Valletta Waterfront’s Carnival street party

Malta Independent Friday, 16 February 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 21 years ago

Mikiel, the Agenda Kids’ Club’s mascot, will be entertaining children at Valletta Waterfront’s Agenda. A designated section within the Agenda Bookshop outlet is being allocated for kids to let their imagination free and draw their favourite Carnival characters, as well as colour in their favourite Mikiel drawing.

This activity will be held during the spectacular Carnival Street Party that Valletta Waterfront will be holding tomorrow and on Sunday after 8pm.

“Every effort should be made to help children understand that books and reading are fun. This Carnival, at Agenda, we want to lift the lid off children’s imagination and let their fantasy and creative ideas flow into colourful designs that they will be drawing in a section of our outlet at Valletta Waterfront. The Agenda Kids’ Club strongly believes in this kind of activities as they introduce children to the fascinating and interesting world of books,” explained Marketing Executive for Agenda Bookshop, Rachelle Tabone.

Children who become members of the Agenda Kids’ Club are entitled to discounts on children’s books, apart from being given free goodies upon registration. The Agenda Kids’ Club invited all parents wishing to sign their children up to the kids’ club to visit any of the Agenda Bookshop outlets.

Entrance to the Valletta Waterfront Carnival Street Party is free of charge. A number of lively events for all the family will be held on both nights. These will kick off at 8pm, with a lively repertoire by Mellieha’s La Vittoria Band, which will be livening up the promenade with its brass tunes. Later on both evenings, the Spiteri Lucas Band will be playing popular tunes including latin and sing-a-long melodies.
