Malta Independent Saturday, 17 February 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 21 years ago

The Christmas season at the Embassy was, as usual one full of fun and prizes. This year anyone spending Lm5 anywhere in the Embassy Complex before 14 January was given a participation voucher for the Embassy Xmas competition.

Roxanne Orsini was the winner of the Grand Prize - a Lube kitchen from Carmelo Delia & Sons, while Carmen Grech won the Second Prize - a Week for 2 at the Westin Dragonara Resort in a Deluxe Room on Bed & Breakfast. All through November and December 2006 a fully operational LUBE kitchen was displayed on Great Siege Square, in front of the Law Courts to give shoppers an idea of what is available at Carmelo Delia & Sons. Both winners are regular Valletta Shoppers and noted how Valletta has visibly evolved over the past few years, not only as a shopping centre, but as a cultural and entertainment venues, especially in the evenings.

Six years on since the opening of the complex as a shopping and entertainment centre, open 7 days a week from an early coffee to a late night movie, and the Embassy is now looking to the future with plans for refurbishment of the complex with a view to enhancing the spaces used by thousands daily.

The Embassy has continued to attract more patrons annually thanks to its location in the heart of Valletta and the great mix of international and local products and services that the complex has to offer. It recognizes that in order to keep up this flow of people on a regular basis it is essential to keep the place looking fresh and attractive, while maintaining the right balance of shops and entertainment.

The Embassy continues to be a major player in reintroducing entertainment into Valletta through the multi-screen Embassy Cinemas and computerized Bingo. With the introduction of the Park and Ride system and the imminent removal of the V-license, Embassy Cinemas and Bingo look forward to having new patrons who will be able to enter and park in Valletta more easily both during the day and in the evenings.

The Embassy continually aims to improve the choices available to patrons, with new shops opening to compliment those that have become established within the complex.
