Court: Man Charged with theft of camping equipment

A 36-year-old man yesterday pleaded not guilty to stealing a number of items, including camping equipment.

Before Magistrate Audrey Demicoli, Romeo Bone from Floriana, was charged with stealing a number of items from The Scout Shop in Floriana and with damaging the property to the detriment of Charles Grixti. The value of the stolen items exceeded Lm1,000.

Mr Bone was further charged with receiving stolen items on Friday and with intending to sell them. He was also charged with relapsing.

The court denied the accused bail and he was remanded in custody. Police Inspectors Joseph Mercieca and Stephen Mallia prosecuted.
