The first stone of Msida’s new local council premises was laid yesterday by the mayor, Dr Alex Sciberras, in the presence of councillors, during a ceremony which also included the unveiling of a commemorative plaque and the blessing of the building’s foundations by Msida’s parish priest.
The building, whose first phase will cost around Lm140,000, is to serve as Msida local council’s administrative premises and as a civic centre by also including a child care centre, day care centre, a public library and ample office space which Msida’s voluntary organisations may make use of.
