Ideacasa has moved 200m further down Valley Road, Birkirkara, a move that has trebled its floor space making it one of the largest furniture showrooms – if not the largest on the island.

The new showroom is located in the former Day to Day supermarket building but the refurbished edifice can hardly be recognised. This new showroom represents an investment of Lm2 million.

The facade has been redone with a huge glass wall at the entrance. A 15m atrium has been created behind it cutting through all three floors, giving the visitor an immediate sense of the vastness of the building.

Architect Ivan Coleiro has created a dramatic suspended staircase with a spectacular Murano chandelier of glass bubbles dominating the atrium.

The new showroom will have on display more than 100 rooms out of which, 22 will be kitchens and 20 will be bedrooms. In addition to numerous other items, Ideacasa is adding to its existing range two new ranges of kitchens and a number of novelties including lighting and flooring. The company will now even exhibit a new range of exclusive handmade Venetian furniture in solid wood that will appeal to lovers of classic furniture and fine arts.

Ideacasa directors Sergio Gauci and Anthony Sammut announced that their company will be the only company on the market that will shortly offer a guarantee scheme for on-time delivery, offering a rebate in case of delay.

Ideacasa was set up in 1999 to benefit from the opportunity created by the liberalisation of the imported furniture sector in 2003.

This new showroom is expected to employ an estimated 40 people.
