A 40-year-old hawker was yesterday charged with possession of 756 games and DVDs and circulating false items in Valletta.

Richard Mercieca from Iklin pleaded not guilty to the charges of possession of counterfeit PlayStation games, DVDs and music CDs and breaching trademark and copyright regulations in Valletta on 5 November 2006.

Mr Mercieca was also charged, before magistrate Edwina Grima, with circulating false items and relapsing.

Police inspector Ian Abdilla prosecuted and Dr Roberto Montalto appeared for the accused.
