Maltese Parliamentary delegation in India

A delegation from the House of Representatives’ Standing Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, led by committee chairman Jason Azzopardi and consisting of Evarist Bartolo, Angelo Farrugia and Clyde Puli, is in India to discuss the strengthening of relations between the Maltese Parliament and the two houses of the Indian parliament, trade cooperation, investment promotion, tourism and other issues of joint interest.

In New Delhi, the delegation will be meeting the Parliamentary Affairs, Information and Broadcasting Minister, the External Affairs Minister, the Communication and Information Technology Minister and the Tourism and Culture Minister.

Meetings will also be held with the chairman of the Standing Committee on External Affairs and with the chairman of the Standing Committee on Information Technology. The delegation is also due to meet the deputy speaker of the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian parliament, Charanjit Singh Atwal, and the deputy chairman of the Rajha Sabha, the upper house, Rahaman Khan.

The delegation will also visit the National Association of Software and Service Companies in New Delhi.
