Corinthia Hotels International (CHI) announced that its two five-star hotels in Budapest, Hungary – the Corinthia Aquincum Hotel and the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal – have between them received nine Best in Class awards in the Best of Budapest Survey 2006, a quality benchmarking exercise conducted annually by the leading Budapest Week magazine.

Both hotels were officially declared to be among the best five-star hotels overall in Hungary and also awarded for Best Food and Beverage Services. Moreover, the Corinthia Aquincum Hotel received Best in Class awards in the Best Wellness and Best Sunday Brunch categories, while the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal received similar awards in the Best Far Eastern Restaurants and Best Conference and Banqueting Facilities sections. The Hotel’s Royal Residence luxury apartments were voted among the Best Suite Hotels in the city.

The Budapest Week awards, with the motto “The Measure of Quality”, have been held for the last 14 consecutive years. An exhaustive survey among the magazine’s readers and business partners produces a list of the top hotels in some 60 different categories within the Hungarian hospitality and hotel industry, as well as other tourism-related services.

The Corinthia Aquincum Hotel is owned by the Malta-based Corinthia Group of Companies and the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal by its affiliate company International Hotel Investments plc (IHI). Both hotels are operated by Corinthia Hotels International.
