The General Workers’ Union’s Chemical, Energy and Printing Section requested a meeting with Enemalta Corporation chairman Alexander Tranter to discuss the privatisation of Enemalta’s gas division.

The section said that following the announcement of the privatisation of the Enemalta gas division, it has asked Ing. Tranter, on behalf of the division workers, to provide further information as per the EU directive on information and consultation.

Given the uncertainty among the division workers, the section insisted that the workers should be informed on what the management was planning, especially in connection with the transfer of workers.
