A workshop on “Panic Disorder – a Cognitive Behavioural Treatment Approach”, organised by CPD (Malta), will be held on 13 and 14 April at the SAS Radisson, St George’s Bay, St Julian’s. The guest speaker will be Prof. Paul Salkovskis from the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College and Maudsley Hospital, London.
Panic disorder – with and without agoraphobia – is both common and disabling. Cognitive behavioural therapy for panic is one of the most rapid, effective, focused and flexible treatment available for anxiety.
It is the first-line treatment recommended by the National Institute for Public Health and Clinical Excellence.
Conducting the treatment involves a skilful blend of assessment, formulation, discussion techniques and behavioural experiments. The workshop is intended to allow clinicians to learn how to deliver such treatment.
The workshop is aimed at professionals in the field of psychology, psychiatry, medicine, counselling, psychotherapy, social workers, psychiatric nurses and related mental health professions. This workshop covers 16 CPD hours.
