A 24-year-old from Birkirkara has been charged with importing and possessing heroin on Sunday and during the previous months.
Clifford Bonnici pleaded not guilty to possessing the drug, which was found in a state denoting it was not for his personal use.
Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna granted the accused bail against a deposit of Lm500 and a personal guarantee of Lm1,000.
Police inspector Pierre Grech prosecuted and Dr Franco Debono appeared for Mr Bonnici.
