Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline, opened dedicated lounge facilities for its premium passengers at both Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia, and Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Thailand last week.

Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur are among Emirates’ busiest cities in the Asia Pacific. The airline serves Bangkok with 19 weekly flights and Kuala Lumpur with nine – and these new lounges will prove a great addition to the experience of its passengers using these airports.

Richard Vaughan, senior vice-president commercial operations, East Asia and Australasia, officiated the opening of The Emirates Lounge in Bangkok. He said: “The Emirates Lounge allow us to provide our customers with a consistent, high-quality Emirates experience both on the ground and in the air, starting from their exclusive chauffeur-driven airport transfer and dedicated airport check-in counters, to luxurious lounge facilities and then our award-winning service on board.”

“Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur are both key cities in our Asia Pacific route network. Their strategic location allows us to offer a seamless experience for our passengers connecting onward to Emirates destinations in Australia and New Zealand. We are certain that our passengers, particularly those travelling on long-haul flights, will enjoy our new lounge facilities,” said Mr Vaughan.

Besides First and Business class passengers, Emirates’ dedicated lounge in Bangkok can also be used by Gold Skywards members – its frequent-flyer programme.

Emirates also operates three dedicated lounges in Dubai International Airport, and in the following key cities around its route network: London Heathrow, London Gatwick, New York JFK, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland, Singapore, Hong Kong.

Emirates operates five flights weekly from Malta to Dubai via Larnaca, Cyprus, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, on Airbus A330-200. For the Maltese flying to Australia or the Far East, Emirates offers the most convenient connections from Dubai.
