Bank of Valletta and Valletta Fund Management are supporting Moods – the second solo exhibition by Keith Balzan. This exhibition is being held at Heritage Malta’s head office in Valletta and will be open to the public until 20 May.

The sponsorship was presented by Bank of Valletta’s Paola branch manager Emily Grech during a visit to the artist’s studio. Speaking at the presentation, Ms Grech said: “We are delighted to be supporting Keith in this second solo exhibition, that follows on the success of his first exhibition held last year. Indeed, true to our commitment to promote arts and culture in Malta, we were among the first sponsors of Keith Balzan’s art exhibitions and today we are pleased to note the positive development of this his career.”

Thanking Bank of Valletta for its support, Mr Balzan said: “My art reflects my mood, spontaneity and burning passion for the creative interpretation of everyday life. My emotional and expressionistic art surfaces in the use of block black, blazing reds, flaming yellow and murky blues. The philosophy, method and approach of most of these works are owed to the influence of some of the great masters of Expression-ism: Vincent Van Gogh, Franz Marc, Kandinsky and Munch.

The collection of 42 works that will be exhibited by the artist includes landscapes, nudes, the artist’s interpretation of famous masterpieces, portraits and abstract compositions.
