Even though Sixth Simfoni has only just been given life, it is painfully obvious that the birth was carefully premeditated and its life from infancy to adulthood planned meticulously.
“We did two gigs locally, one at Poxx Bar and the other as part of the Live at Luxol Campaign.
“The crowd which turned out was incredible on both occasions. Next is Natasha’s and then onto Europavox in France,” explains Simon Vella, the violinist.
Europavox is a Music Festival held in France, aimed at promoting the best in independent European music. Only three bands have been asked to play on the Urban mainstage – Sixth Simfoni is one of them.
The other two acts are Marseille rap giants IAM and Pete Philly and Perquisite, a crew that has been dubbed by most international publications as hip-hop’s next big thing.
“It’s an honour and all to be asked to play at such an event alongside people I can only describe as childhood heroes, but I know that the whole crew is keeping their feet on the ground in the same way that I am and striving to make this the first step of a much longer walk,” exclaims Pen.
Before taking on the European market at full force, the crew will be filming a music video for their immensely innovative tune Breaktru. Black Media will be the team behind it – the same avant-garde production house that has handled Ira Losco’s latest videos as well as the ground-breaking Virus Project.
“It’s gonna be intense, the ideas we came up with will amplify the audio tenfold. It’s all there ready to be unleashed.
“As always, we are ready to put some real work into it. The outcome, I’m sure, will be nothing short of groundbreaking,” says D Legacy.
Sixth Simfoni are recruiting people with that extra edge to be part of the shoot.
“We need people that feel comfortable with the camera and can groove to hip-hop, we are looking for people who can just kick it with us and chill.”
