On Saturday 28 April at 7.30pm at the Salesian Theatre in Sliema, the Orchestra of the Società Filarmonica “Sliema” conducted by Mro James Agius will perform a concert version of Franz Lehar’s famous operetta La Danza delle Libellule produced by Joe Fenech. It will perform the most popular selections together with singers Joe Aquilina, Joe Huber, Karen Camilleri, Connie Frances Zerafa, Loiuselle Pace Gouder and the University Third Age Choir. Orchestra leader is violinist Ronnie Pisani.

The operetta is being presented in association with the Association of Lyceum Past Students marking the school’s foundation day.

The Società Filarmonica “Sliema” has three different musical ensembles, namely, the Youth Band,conducted by Mro Sigmund Mifsud; the main “Sliema” Symphony Band, conducted by Mro Ronnie Debattista, and the “Sliema” String Orchestra conducted by Mro James Agius.
