Brian Tonna & Co. has recently announced the appointment of two new partners, Manuel Castagna and Karl Cini, with effect from 1 January. Both Mr Castagna and Mr Cini have been working with the firm for over six years.

Mr Castagna graduated in Accountancy in 1996 and for five years he worked with the Maltese office of Grant Thornton. During this time, which included a three-month secondment with the Oxford office, he worked as an Audit Senior until he was promoted to Audit Manager. After a short spell managing the offshore department of Fenlex Corporate Services Ltd, Mr Castagna joined Brian Tonna’s audit firm in April 2001, where he is

currently responsible for local clients and the audit department.

Mr Cini is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Accountants. He worked with Grant Thornton for three years, during which time he was seconded to the London office. In 2001, he joined Brian Tonna & Co. as an Audit Manager. Recently he was instrumental in negotiating the membership of Brian Tonna & Co. with SC International. At present Mr Cini is in charge of the international tax department.

Brian Tonna, managing partner of Brian Tonna & Co., welcomed the addition of Mr Castagna and Mr Cini to the senior management, describing their appointment as a significant and valuable asset to the firm. “With their experience and drive I am confident that the firm will continue to expand the excellent service provided to its established local clients as well as to its growing number of international investors”, he said.
