On Sunday 15 April His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovakia, Stanislav Vallo, accompanied by the Honorary Consul of Slovakia for Malta Godwin E. Bencini, visited Palazzo Sliema, residence of the Societá Filarmonica Sliema. The ambassador was welcomed by the society’s president Tonio Portughese and other committee officials. During the visit an agreement was reached on the participation of artists, musicians and performers from Slovakia in the second edition of the Sliema International Arts Festival scheduled for September to December of this year. Last September the Sliema Band visited Slovakia and performed a musical programme in the amphitheatre of Komarno, capital of Southern Slovakia.
