The councillors section of the Malta Labour Party joined the Labour mayors and deputy mayors who attended a conference organised by the Association of Local Councils at the weekend to give a vote of confidence to the association which has had “a new beginning” since it started being led by a Labour majority six months ago, Luciano Busuttil, vice-president of the MLP section, said yesterday.
The new administration had held regional meetings for the southeast, northwest and Gozo in the past six months, something that had not been done for the past six years when Nationalist councillor Ian Micallef was association president, Dr Busuttil said.
