A 30-year-old woman from Zejtun died yesterday in hospital where she was taken for treatment after finding herself in difficulty while swimming in Ghadira Bay a day before.

A police statement said that at 1.45pm on Saturday it had been informed that a woman had found herself in difficulty while swimming and, after she was helped by paramedics, was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital for treatment.

The police said that the woman died yesterday morning.

Magistrate Tonio Micallef Trigona ordered an autopsy. The police are investigating.
