In the past years, the HSBC Cares For Children Fund has distributed a total of Lm7,500 worth of books to various primary school libraries in Malta and Gozo. The latest school to benefit from a sponsorship is Dun Frans Camilleri Primary School in Hamrun, receiving a sponsorship of Lm300.
“Education is one of the pillars of the HSBC Cares For Children Fund. HSBC recognises that education is pivotal to an all-round personal development, pivotal to understanding culture and values and integrating into society,” said Alex Mizzi, Central Area Director, HSBC Malta. “HSBC feels a responsibility towards fighting illiteracy, and is determined to help young children in Malta with opportunities to attain a good level of education,” he said.
The books were presented to Head of School Mr Joseph Camilleri by HSBC’s Central Area Director Mr Alex Mizzi and Mr Chris Cini, Hamrun Branch Manager, HSBC Bank Malta.
