On 7 June, about 70 enthusiastic men and women will cycle to the top of Alpe d’Huez. Among them will be Tai Nizawa, area manager Benelux, Scandinavia, Middle East and Africa, who is taking part in the relay team ‘De Krakende Spaak (www.dekrakendespaak.nl). Konica Minolta has already sponsored the Alpe d’HuZes, an organisation which collects money on behalf of the Dutch Cancer Society.

The Alpe d’HuZes started in 2006 with around 60 people cycling up to the top of the 1800 m high Alpe d’Hues, the famous mountain of the Tour de France, six times. The organisation collected EUR370.000 in sponsor money. This year the Alpe d’Huez continues with the Alpe d’HuZes+1. On Thursday 7 June the cyclists will climb the Alpe d’Huez not six times, but seven times!

Social involvement is essential in Konica Minolta’s policy and fund-raising for an organisation like the Dutch Cancer Society meets its involvement. Tai Nizawa used to cycle many kilometres in Japan, so the company has every faith in his performance!
