During a courtesy visit to Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono, Bank of Valletta chairman Roderick Chalmers said that Bank of Valletta can confirm a significant increase in business activity during the Notte Gozitana weekend. “Our card business was double the average of a typical weekend in May, a fact that highlights the business generating impact that these events had,” explained Mr Chalmers.

The bank’s chairman, together with CEO Tonio Depasquale, were in Gozo as part of the activities marking a week of activities that Bank of Valletta is organising to underline its commitment to play an active role within the Gozitan community.

Minister Debono thanked Bank of Valletta for its support as a main sponsor of the Lejlet Lapsi - Notte Gozitana activities. ”Bank of Valletta’s support as a main sponsor of the events was one of the factors that contributed towards the success achieved,” she said.

Mr Chalmers said that BOV is delighted that Notte Gozitana managed to attract thousands of visitors to Gozo. “Over the years, the Bank has been supporting efforts to promote tourism in Gozo as a means towards generating more economic activity on the Island. Notte Gozitana was another initiative in this direction. It also underlined our resolve to support arts and culture and to promote our heritage,” added Mr Chalmers.
