Senglea mayor Joseph Casha, personally and in his role as mayor yesterday filed a libel suit against National Party weekly paper Il-Mument editor Victor Camilleri.
In his application, Mr Casha said he felt libelled by two articles that appeared on the weekly newspaper on 20 May and last Sunday.
He said the contents were solely aimed at tarnishing his reputation and called on the court to order the paper’s editor to award him damages.
