Clients Rewarded for loyalty

Main shippers and forwarding agents in Malta were recently rewarded by Lufthansa Cargo for the results achieved in 2006.

Mr Thilo Schafer, director Italy and Malta, spoke about the strategy of Lufthansa Cargo in Malta, which has always been based on continuity, loyalty and trust. He also gave a short overview of the positive results of Lufthansa Cargo for 2006: Lufthansa Cargo posted an operating profit of EUR81.5 million for the year and since mid-2006 has again been growing above the IATA market average. The company is performing excellently in the world market and continues to be a major force in the global airfreight industry.

Florian Pfaff, Vice-President Europe and Africa, presided over the awards ceremony. Bronze awards were distributed to Messrs Carmelo Caruana Ltd, Gollcher Air Express, Kuehne & Nagel (Malta) Ltd, Fish and Fish Malta Ltd,

Malta Fishfarming Ltd and Palm Shipping Agency, and the Silver award was presented to Messrs B.A.S. Ltd and Eyre Cargo Services.

The Gold award went to MAL Services Ltd and to STMicroelectronics Malta Ltd from the shippers’ side.

In addition, for the last five years Lufthansa Cargo Malta has rewarded those personalities who have come up with initiatives that excelled in innovation and support towards Lufthansa Cargo. The Lufthansa Cargo Personality Award for 2006 was presented to Mr Philip De Battista, import/export manager of STMicroelectronics Malta Ltd.
