Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal, one of Budapest’s leading five-star hotels, has received the Five Star Diamond Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences. The award is presented to top hotels that offer luxury services and demonstrate an unrelenting commitment to customer service and hospitality.

The award was presented to hotel general manager Adrian Ellis by Vittorio G. Gai, president of the American academy, at a

ceremony held in the hotel’s opulent baroque ballroom. Assisting in the presentation was Miss Hungary 2006 Kitti Szabó.

Mr Gai said: “This award is given to only a few establishments around the world that demonstrate a commitment to excellence in terms of superior hospitality and customer services. I am pleased to say that the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal sits very comfortably in this category.”

More than 200 VIP guests attending the ceremony, including Israeli ambassador David Admon, consul to Jordan Zaid Naffa, and Hungarian Tourism Board president Ákos Niklai, were treated to a feast of delicacies prepared by executive chef Vincent Astier, to the accompaniment of the Hungarian Opera House string-quartet.
