Artist Arnold Sultana paints with an eye for detail, capturing a particular moment in history. His paintings detain and seal tranquil but simultaneously vivacious moments for posterity.

Arnold, who is self-taught, found abundant inspiration from artists who left their mark on local art at the turn of the previous century such as Vella, Caruana Dingli and Calì.

In this exhibition he has included seascapes, village scenes and townscapes and has illuminated them with simple lighting to give them a sometimes unusual quality of vision

The Illuminations exhibition can be viewed up to Friday, at Le Méridien St Julian’s, Balluta Bay, Level 3, next to the main reception area.
