Malta Independent Wednesday, 20 June 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

A man is being held by the police after drugs were discovered in a St Paul’s Bay apartment, ready to be trafficked.

The police said investigations that had gone on for weeks had indicated that an apartment in St Publius Street was being used for the trafficking of drugs.

While they were observing what was going on in the apartment on Monday afternoon, anti-drug squad members stopped a 33-year-old man from Marsa.

A search in the apartment yielded about 100 grams of heroin and about five grams of cocaine, ready to be trafficked, the police said.

Other objects related to the trafficking of drugs were also found.

The man was held for further investigations and some people may be arraigned in court in the coming days, the police said.
