The AX Group launched an intensive recruitment exercise recently, taking on new staff to complement the joint responsibility of Victoria and The Palace hotel administration. The selected staff will supplement the new administrative set-up and will cater for the Victoria and The Palace network.

In this context Romina Aquilina has been appointed assistant financial controller of The Palace and the Victoria Hotel while Monica Elizabeth Grima has been appointed head housekeeper also for The Palace and The Victoria Hotel. Romina Pace, with a successful career and 14 years experience in the hospitality industry, has been appointed human resources manager at The Palace.

Jason Degiorgio is the new operations manager in this new 5-star hotel forming part of the AX Group and will also assist The Palace’s general manager, Claire Xuereb, in the day-to-day operations leading to the opening of the hotel. Jason is an ITS graduate and has over 12 years experience in the local tourism industry. Jason has also worked and trained in Scotland at the St Andrews Old Course Hotel.

The Palace will be opening its doors to guests towards the end of June. The hotel has 161 rooms spread over nine floors. The total investment made by AX Holdings is in excess of Lm9 million. The Palace is a modern urban hotel, which has a classical touch that gives the décor a dramatic effect.
