Polidano Group celebrated the 25th anniversary of Polidano Brothers Ltd at the Monte Kristo Wine Vaults.
Archbishop Mgr Paul Cremona OP visited the Polidano Group offices at Hal Farrug, touring the various plants where he met employees. Following the tour, Mgr Cremona unveiled a commemorative plaque in the office building.
Brothers Charles and Paul Polidano entered the construction industry under the company name of Polidano Brothers in 1982, with the launch of a small construction firm capable of handling modest projects. The enterprising brothers realised, even in those early days, that the future lay in providing mechanically-oriented services to a burgeoning construction industry. In sharp contrast to what was happening on the international scene, most construction work in Malta was still performed manually until the mid-1980s.
With several major infrastructural projects about to come on stream, the strategy of introducing most cost-effective, labour-saving heavy equipment made good business sense.
This strategy quickly earned the industry’s trust and respect. One major project followed another, culminating in national infrastructure feats that set the benchmark for others to match.
Mgr Cremona also celebrated a Mass of thanksgiving for all the Polidano Group employees and guests in the new arena of the Monte Kristo Estate. This was followed by a reception at the Monte Kristo Wine Vaults attended by all the group employees and guests.
