Tomorrow we celebrate the feast of St Peter and St Paul better known as L-Imnarja. It is an important event in the Maltese calendar. It is the most popular traditional summer festivity held as a folk festival as well as a religious holiday. In fact, this feast includes a mixture of religion, tradition, food and colour.

Originally the feast of St Peter and St Paul used to be solely a religious function celebrated at the grotto of St Paul, Rabat in Malta.

Nowadays, on Imnarja Day, a lot of people gather at Buskett Gardens to listen to traditional ghannejja accompanied by their guitarists. Besides the singing, also at Buskett Gardens one can go and admire the agricultural display. Farmers take their best products to exhibit them at the Buskett Show. It is worth paying this exhibition a visit to see the best in Maltese produce.

Another old tradition during the Imnarja Festival is the racing of horses in villages. In Malta the races are held at Rabat, while in Gozo they are held in the streets of Nadur.
