Following the success of Notte Bianca held in Valletta towards the end of last year, it seems that the idea of spending a night out enjoying pleasant music, good food and the company of many people is catching on.

Following its election in March, the new Attard local council set out to organise a local version of Notte Bianca, naming it Lejl ghat-Tard. This event will be held on Friday, 6 July from 8pm onwards, in the village centre.

The council set up a sub-committee with the contribution of a number of Attard residents specialising in different fields. The organising team came up with the idea of having five venues, each dedicated to a different type of music or show. These are the HSBC Bands and Choir Area, the BOV Fashion and Celebrities Area, the MCCA Classical Area, the Middle Sea Valletta Folklore and Arts Area and the Heineken Jazz Area.

Activities being held during the night include hair shows, fashion shows, classical music, bands, Maltese ghana and traditional music by Nafra, a big show by some of Malta’s top artistes, a show by organist Claire Baluci, historical re-enactments, live “statues” and wine tasting.

Admission to all of these venues will be free of charge.

Lejl ghat-Tart is being organised with the support of Attard local council, together with HSBC Bank Malta plc, Bank of Valletta plc, the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, Heineken and Middle Sea Valletta Life Assurance Co. Ltd, as well as a number of other organisations.
