Malta’s official Eurovision club, OGAEMALTA.com, reported that during the telethon aired on ONE TV on 24 June, the 1992 Maltese Eurovision entry singer, Mary Spiteri made a very important announcement. She said that she is dedicating her 1992 entry, Little Child to young Madelaine – the missing girl.

During her announcement, Mary Spiteri said that following latest reports about possible ‘sightings’ of Madelaine in the Maltese islands, she felt that she should dedicate Little Child to the missing girl.

“If the person who is keeping this missing girl in captivity is in Malta and watching us right now on TV, then, may this song touch your heart and you will let Madelaine return to her parents.”, concluded the popular singer Mary Spiteri to the arousing applause from the crowd present during the telethon.

“Little Child” won the Eurovision Fever award last May during OGAE Malta’s “Eurovision Fever” TV-show following a voting from the televiewers where they were asked to vote for their all time favourite Maltese Eurovision entry.
