Philip Barleggs, Head of Fixed Income Product Management Team at Insight Investment Management Limited, was the guest speaker during a sales seminar held by Valletta Fund Management Limited for Bank of Valletta employees.

Insight Investment Management Limited, part of the Halifax Bank of Scotland Group, acts as the Sub-Investment Manager of Valletta Fund Management Ltd’s range of funds.

During the seminar held at the Corinthia San Gorg Hotel in St Julian’s, Mr Barleggs gave a market analysis and outlook of the global bond market.

Peter Perotti, general manager of Valletta Fund Management Limited, said the company has continued to register growth in its funds under management and mentioned in particular the La Valette Multi Manager Property Fund which as at 22 May stands at EUR80 million and has registered an annualised return of 10.33 per cent since its inception on 13 September 2005 to the said date.

The seminar was also addressed by Mark Vella, Head of Marketing at Valletta Fund Management Limited, who spoke about the international market and the wide range of euro denominated products that VFM has to offer to Maltese investors as the country gears itself to adopt the single European currency in January 2008.

Such seminars are organised by Valletta Fund Management on a quarterly basis to keep Bank of Valletta licensed sales personnel abreast of the changes in the local and international market as well as on the performance of the Valletta Fund Management Limited range of funds.
