David Spiteri Gingell had been appointed chief executive officer of Enemalta Corporation with effect from 16 July.

Mr Spiteri Gingell has been involved in public sector for the last 23 years in a number of roles, notably his heading of the former Management Systems Unit (now MEU), chairman of the European-Mediterranean Initiative for Technology and Innovation (EuroMedITI), the Malta Council for Science and technology (MCST) and MITTS, in which he also served in the dual role of CEO till December 2006.

Mr Spiteri Gingell has also been assigned a number of specific projects of national importance over the years, including the drafting of a National Strategy for Industry, the re-design of the National Budget process and the chairing of the Pensions Work Group, which was assigned to articulate proposals for pension reform. Mr Spiteri Gingell will continue to serve as a non-executive chairman of MITTS Ltd and EuroMedITI.
