Bank of Valletta has appointed Ivan Gaffiero as the new manager for its representative office in Milan. Mr Gaffiero is taking over from Joseph Camilleri, who has managed the representative office in Milan for the past seven years.
Mr Gaffiero started his career with Bank of Valletta in 1991 and held several positions at a number of branches and departments. Since 2004, he has been occupying the post of relationship manager within the bank’s Wealth Management Department.
One of the prime functions of BOV’s Milan representative office is to promote and facilitate trade between Maltese and overseas businesses by acting as a link between the BOV Group and the foreign investor. The office also serves to strengthen the relationship between the bank and financial institutions in Milan and the neighbouring regions.
Through its presence in Milan, Bank of Valletta is actively involved in promoting Malta as an international financial services centre among various related institutions in Italy and in the promotion of the BOV Group’s services to those interested in exploiting the opportunities in this field. Seminars and conferences to provide inform-ation on this sector are organised by the office on a regular basis.
The BOV Milan representative office is well positioned to promote Malta as an important hub to service the Euro Mediterranean region. Apart from Milan, Bank of Valletta is also represented through offices in Australia, Canada, Egypt, Tunis and Libya.
