The police have launched two investigations following emails and several articles that appeared in sections of the media about an alleged incident that took place in Birzebbuga involving a Maltese man and three migrants.

In a statement, the police said that one investigation is looking into the incident while the second investigation is an internal inquiry concerned the alleged behaviour of members of the police force.

The man claims that three immigrants surrounded his vehicle and when he reported the matter to the police, he was told to avoid Marsa and Birzebbuga at night as it was a no-go area.
