Lufthansa’s New non-stop service from Frankfurt to Orlando

Malta Independent Sunday, 26 August 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

This winter Lufthansa is launching a new service to Orlando. From 30 October, it will offer its passengers the opportunity to fly to a second destination – after Miami – in Florida, the “Sunshine State”.

The inclusion of Orlando marks the latest stage in the ongoing expansion of the airline’s flight schedule to the USA and Canada in recent years. With the introduction of the winter timetable, Lufthansa will offer a total of 208 flights a week to 20 destinations and will therefore operate one of the most extensive route networks over the North Atlantic.

Each year, over 50 million tourists visit the region with its many famous theme parks (Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World).

Orlando is the most popular leisure destination in the United States after New York for Maltese holidaymakers. New York is primarily a favourite with travellers visiting family and friends due to the large Maltese and Gozitian ”ethnic” community there.

The new Lufthansa service with the flight numbers LH 464/465 will be introduced on 30 October and operate five times a week all year round, with flights departing from Frankfurt at 2.05pm and Orlando at 8.25 pm. The route will be

operated by A330-300 offering First, Business and Tourist Class.
