Acoustic Extravaganza on Campus tomorrow

Malta Independent Saturday, 1 September 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 19 years ago

Alternative Malta will be presenting an acoustic evening tomorrow night at the University campus, featuring acoustic performances by UK acts Pete Molinari and The Burning Leaves and Maltese artist Carrie.

Pete Molinari is currently the talk of the town in the British music media, with several critics hailing him as the next Dylan! It may be a heavy burden to carry, but the man can sure sing a good folk tune. The Burning Leaves are an unsigned British duo very closely attached to the music they make. So close that it gives their songs a dark slumber that somehow manages to remain both enticing and gripping. Last but not least, is Malta’s own Carrie, essentially a solo artist but just as effective with a backing band in tow, though it’s very unlikely she will be using one for this show!

For tickets call 9945-9555 or visit www.myspace.com/ alternativemalta.

Tickets cost Lm3.50 (EUR8.15) ahead of the gig or Lm4.50 (EUR10.48) at the door.
