As part of the activities marking the National Day of the Slovak Republic, next Sunday 9 September, there will be a violin recital at the Sacristia Vault, the Valletta Waterfront. This will be the third concert to be organised by the Honorary Consulate of the Slovak Republic in Malta, in the space of less than 12 months.

Mr Bencini said that in accordance with his intention of having different performers giving recitals in different venues, this time he had selected the beautifully restored Sacristia Vault, for the performance by one of the most talented young violinists in Slovakia, Milan Pal’a.

Though still studying at the Janacek Academy of Music in Brno, Milan Pal’a has participated in many concerts in various European capitals, such as the Czech Republic, Switzerland, France, Russia, Austria and others.

“Slovakia has a wealth of extremely talented musicians and artists,” said Mr Bencini, “and my Honorary Consulate, in collaboration with the Embassy in Rome, and the Slovak Institute, is giving the music loving audience in Malta the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate these high level performances!” He expressed his satisfaction that since the opening of the Honorary Consulate, cultural and commercial ties between the two countries have increased substantially, and he augured that this trend will continue.

This concert was made possible through the support of GlobalCapital, Raiffeisen Bank Malta and Pillow Spaceframe Limited. Honorary Consul Godwin Bencini, publicly thanked these firms, and stated that without their generosity, it would not be possible for music lovers in Malta to have the opportunity of enjoying performances of this calibre.
