The AFM Maritime Squadron’s patrol boat P23 intercepted a boatload of 28 migrants just outside Marsaxlokk Harbour on Sunday evening at about 11.20.

The migrants were 22 men, five women and a child, and were all found initially to be in good health.

With the sea in a somewhat slightly rough swell, they stated that they wanted to enter Malta.

The P23 escorted the boat to Wied il-Buni, where the migrants were handed over to the awaiting immigration police for further investigation.
