The consulate of the Czech Republic in Malta with the support of the Maltese Foreign Affairs Ministry, Malta Financial Services Authority, Malta Enterprise, Malta Tourism Authority and Air Malta plc, will be organising a Malta Business Meeting at the Corinthia Towers Hotel in Prague, Czech Republic on Thursday 13 September.
The event includes a morning session, Malta – Your Trading Partner which will be addressed by officials from Malta Enterprise, Malta Tourism Authority and Air Malta and an afternoon session dedicated exclusively to Financial Services, Malta a Financial Services Centre – Developments and Opportunities, during which officials from the Malta Financial Services Authority, the Central Bank of Malta and various operators in the sector will make presentations. Both sessions will end with a networking reception.
A delegation of over 25 Maltese executives will be travelling to Prague for the event.
A spokesman for the consulate of the Czech Republic in Malta, explaining the reasons behind the event, stated that the consulate has been working on this project for over six months and has found the full cooperation from all entities involved in the project. “Our business as a Czech consulate here in Malta is primarily to promote the Czech Republic, but no healthy relationship flows in one direction.
“The concept behind the event will be to focus Czech entrepreneurs’ attention to look well at Malta, delivering a clear message on the huge business opportunities available in the various sectors of the Maltese economy, with special reference to financial services, foreign direct investment and opportunities related to accessing the North African market through Malta.” It is planned that a similar event will be held in Malta next year when Malta and the former Czechoslovakia will be celebrating 40 years of diplomatic relations.
