For the past eight weeks in nine centres spread around Gozo, 300 children participated in the 2007 edition of Skola Sajf organised by the Gozitan University students and the Gozo Ministry.

Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono spoke about the success of the Gozo Skola Sajf initiative at the exhibition displaying projects illustrating the introduction of the euro, the importance of healthy eating, and animal care, held on Tuesday at Sir Arturo Mercieca Primary School in Victoria.

She said these items are a proof of evidence of those committed to offer this educational experience to children during their school holidays.

She added that the ministry is investing in a series of projects and initiatives aimed towards enhancing school facilities in Gozo while giving importance to improve accessibility to students with disabilities.

Items prepared by students from the Sannat Special Unit and those who followed the Klabb Sajf programme, which caters for students in need of particular attention, were also on display at the exhibition.

Skola Sajf participants also had the opportunity of visiting two archaeological sites, through an initiative offered by Heritage Malta offices in Gozo.

The students also visited the museum of natural science within the Citadel.

Every centre in Gozo took part in a quiz competition which focused on the euro, which was won by Sir Arturo Mercieca primary school in Victoria.

Activities organised this week will round off another edition of Skola Sajf.

These include a sport activity held at the Gozo sports complex last Monday, and a talent show being held at the Don Bosco Oratory today.
