San Lawrenz local council in Gozo has been granted a licence by Maltapost to operate a sub-post office from its premises, making it a “first” for Maltapost and for the island’s postal history.
The new sub-post office became operational on Monday. A spokesman for Maltapost said the postal service provider aimed to open additional sub-post offices, even in other local councils, in order to offer postal services to the public, particularly in areas where there were no Maltapost retail outlets.
The new sub-post office at San Lawrenz will offer all postal services to residents of the locality and the surrounding areas.
