Portuguese Photography exhibition in Valletta

Malta Independent Saturday, 8 September 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

An exhibition of photographs by members of the Portuguese group Kameraphoto, organised by the Embassy of Portugal, was opened on Thursday by Tourism and Culture Minister Francis Zammit Dimech.

This is only one of a string of events intended to celebrate Portugal’s current presidency of the European Union.

Kameraphoto was initiated in 2003 to create a structure which encourages, promotes, presents and protects the work of freelance photographers in both local and international markets, with the aim of providing an opportunity to exchange ideas and present individual and collective projects.

The six photographers participating in the exhibition are Alexandre Almeida, Ceu Guarda, Dora Nogueira, Guillaume Pazat, Rui Xavier, and Sandra Rocha. The exhibition is free of charge and open from Mondays to Saturdays between 9.30am and 12.30am until 20 September at Palazzo De La Salle, in Valletta, courtesy of the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.
