Court: Probation For assault on wife and daughter

A 56-year-old man was yesterday put on probation for three years after pleading guilty to assaulting and slightly injuring his wife and daughter.

Anthony Cutajar, from Marsa, pleaded guilty to assaulting his wife and daughter, inflicting slight injuries in the process, on Sunday.

He also admitted to threatening them. The court, presided over by Magistrate Giovanni Grixti, heard through the accused’s lawyer, Veronique Dalli, that he had an alcohol problem and also had behavioural difficulties.

The court put the accused on probation for three years and also bound him to not approach his wife or daughter against a personal guarantee of Lm100. Police Inspectors Mario Tonna and Nezren Grixti prosecuted.
