Another successful Children Cinema Day was held at the Eden Cinemas on 1 September where both the Eden Cinemas and Eden SuperBowl dedicated all the daytime hours to fun and entertainment for children.
Several thousand children were spoilt for choice with a variety of children’s movies being shown in all 17 cinemas at only Lm1.50 (EUR3.50) for adults and Lm1 (EUR2.33) for children. These special prices also applied at the Eden SuperBowl where children were entertained by more animators and given free balloons.
Throughout the day, face painters and animators entertained the children in both venues.
A bouncy castle and play area were set up attracting many a child, while others were enthralled by the mesmerising terramaxka (barrel organ). Children were given freebies and also discount vouchers by Ronald McDonald; they could also play on the latest V-Smile gaming consoles set up on both entrances and participate in the puppet shows and storytelling. All this and more made for an all-round fun day for all children and their parents!
The most well-attended film was Shrek the Third, closely followed by Surf’s Up. Close to 9,000 people visited the Eden Cinemas making it a very successful day for all.
Children Cinema Day was organised in conjunction with KRS film distributors. Main sponsors for the event were: McDonald’s, Cadbury, V-Smile, and Ribena.
