The court yesterday decided that a Palestinian man and two Maltese men will be extradited to Italy where they are wanted for charges of human trafficking.

The court, presided over by magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna, ordered the extradition of Anthony Muscat, Emanuel Borg and Palestinian Ebeid Osama in three separate rulings.

However, the magistrate ruled that all three men were to be extradited only once their pending court cases in Malta were concluded.

Mr Muscat and Mr Borg are wanted in Italy to face charges of helping Chinese immigrants travel illegally from Malta to Italy while Mr Osama is wanted to face charges in connection with the death of six Chinese immigrants who died in the Malta-Sicily channel almost two and a half years ago.

Mr Borg granted bail against a Lm5,000 deposit and on condition that he signs daily at his local police station and stays 100 metres away from the shores, amongst others.
